what I knit on my summer vacation

I finished another one!

Pattern: "No Purling Allowed" by LanaKnits
Yarn: Elsebeth Lavold "Hempathy"
Needles: US 1.5 / 2.5mm

It somehow felt like bad form - not quite cricket, as the Brits would say - to knit up this cute pattern in a hemp yarn not from LanaKnits, but honestly? This was one I tried eight ways from Sunday to make work last summer, and the project just wouldn't gel. I tried different color combinations of Lana's Hemp for Knitting, and none of them striped the way I wanted. Blech all around.
Then, suddenly - *poof*! This yarn, in only these 2 colors, was all poor-sad on the shelf by itself at a store I rarely visit. Just enough yardage (well, actually 2 skeins too many, but that's always better than too little, right?), in colors that really called to me to work together.

Boy says: "It's very Doctor Seuss... but in a good way!"

Tried it on last night, after kitchenering the armholes, and although it doesn't make me look like Claudia Schiffer, what could, really? This will be a fun one to wear - and in time for an actual summer! See, Stephanie? It can be done! (Sometimes it just takes an extra summer, is all.)

Oh, and another FO today?
My teaching supplies for Stitches Midwest are going, going...

Gone!
