cat, meet bag

It's time for me to let a few cats out of a few bags...

1) I'm training for a marathon.

This one, to be precise.
My favorite training book,
The Non-Runner's Marathon Guide for Women: Get Off Your Butt and On with Your Training, suggests that I can go from recliner to starting line in 20 weeks of training...
and I say, if she can do it, so can I!

2) I'm writing a book.

It's Susanna's fault, really - she keeps nudging me that Unpatterns deserve to be a book, really... and then there are the THREE (count 'em, 3!) self-publishing retreats I've been to with the magnificent Cat Bordhi... and if I show up next year without at least a draft, I'm-a-sleepin' in the doghouse for sure. (Not that Cat would kick anyone out - she's far too nice for that. I'd put myself there, probably.)

So I will beg your indulgence over the coming months, if I go on and on about training routes and fartleks and running intervals and how I hate hills...

and if I post silly photos of me taking silly photos for the book, or step-outs of models for the book, or simply going on and on about how writing a whole entire book takes so looooooong...

...

And it is not lost on me at all that these two enterprises...?
Are very closely related.

Wish me luck!
